Social Media....

I don't twitter and I don't facebook.  It never appealed to me nor do I really have the time.  Facebook seems to me to be for the younger crowd.  Ugh I'm no longer the younger crowd!

I wondering though should I sign up for these 2 social networking mediums for my biz?  I see a lot of etsy sellers that do both.  I'm not sure how much they will help or hurt.  Lets face it I love this blog but I can barley post everyday (hoping to change this once I'm caught up on orders) I'd love to hear from any of you that do use these 2 mediums.

In other news........ Here is my mess of an office........

Tomorrow and Friday Joe is off from work. A nice long holiday weekend together.  We plan on putting up the gazebo we bought from target back in May.  Pray we don't kill each other while assembling it. I promise to take pictures dead or alive!

Mmmmm HAROLD'S....

Thursday I met up with my best gals Kerri and Debby from my old office job (I love saying that).  We went to Harolds NY Deli  Delish!  If visiting NJ Harold's is a must try.  Go hungry and plan on taking home a doggie bag.  This NY style deli serves a serious sandwich.  One large sandwich will serve 2 people and you will still have enough for each of you to take some home.

Large Sandwich
$18.95

3 Meat Sandwich XL
(feeds 3-5 people and then some)
(yes it's that big)
$37.95

Potato Pancake
mmm..Must try
$9.45

Pickle Bar
(all you can eat)

If you have room....
Deserts the size of small countries

It's a really fun experience.  The best sandwiches to try are the fresh carving turkey, corned beef, and pastrami.

I had a blast sharing awesome food and catching up on office gossip.  I think the only part of my old day job that I miss is these 2 ladies I'm so lucky to have them as 2 of my best friends.

Sizing Guide

I thought I would do a quick post on the sizing difference for my dolls.  It's often hard to imagine in your mind the difference between a 3 1/2" doll compared to a 2" doll.  So I give you the sizing guide.......

Click on the picture to see the sizing better.

Happy Thursday.  I'm off to paint....

A Look Back...

Happy Saturday...  I thought it would be fun to take a walk back in time and see how my toppers have evolved since the beginning....

The very first topper

It's not terrible but it's not as polished as my style today.  The eyes are too big, I like my smaller eyes now and although I do the "real" veils I attached them to a tiny ribbon instead of those awful pearls.  I was also doing hobbies which I will do if asked but prefer not to.  I like the clean look of just a bride and groom

Middle of the road....

Here the eyes are still big but I thinned out the ties and made the arms longer.  If you notice on the first topper above the groom as short arms or as I like to call them aligator arms LOL.

First Military Topper

First Family

First Pets

First Superhero Couple

TODAY...

Now they look polished.  Clean lines, smaller eyes, better attention to details

 Pefection!

Love this new short dress 3" girl.  Perfect for tea length dresses.

What do you think?  Be Honest!  I have a few new items in the SHOP go check them out.  Oh and superheros are still available by request only.  Email me here or through the shop to order.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

K

Press

Hey friends,

I have exciting news.  I am now featured in Wedding Style Guide (Austrailia) Winter 2011 edition!  My toppers are on page 81.  I was so excited when they contacted me a few months ago.  They sent me a pdf of the magazine the other day.  Its always weird to see your stuff in print but so exciting at the same time.

I was also apart of the May/June 2011 editon of Bridal Guide page 70

They contacted me back in January or Feb I think.  Of course I'm late on the update here.  As soon as it came out in print Joe and I ran out to get a few copies.  I'm featured along side some other fabulous etsy shops.

Time for me to get back to painting!  Just wanted to share.  Actually I have to do some shipping first.

Enjoy your weekend!  Happy Dad's day too!

K

Introducing.....

Hello friends!

I'm so busy I can hardly take a minute to breathe.  I have a goal of  blogging more but with so many orders (thank you brides!) it's hard to find the time.  Even as I type now I should be painting but a girl needs a break!  Can you believe I'm still finishing orders for June!  Yikes.  I will have the last of June done tomorrow.  Luckily it's just the tiny details to finish, photo shoot for the brides to be.  I cross my fingers they like them and off they go in the mail.

On another note in between painting customs I slipped in 2 new toppers!  One is for the semi customs/ready to ship that I want to start offering and the other is a cute non little people type.  Without further ado......

"A perfect Pair say I DO"

"Ready to ship with stand"

Ribbon Stand Only $12.00

All are or will be available this week in the SHOP

Good Morning!  It's been a beautiful past 2 weeks here in NJ.  Sunny and warm.  I've been try to enjoy it when I can.  Custom Wedding toppers are kicking my butt!  Being so busy is a wonderful and I have all the brides to be to thank for that however it has made me re-think they way I will be taking and charging for full custom toppers.

Beginning Aug 1st I will be upping the price of my full custom toppers from 45.00 to 65.00 and up.  With this price increase I am only excepting 15 per weekend of each month.  A weekend consisting of Friday/Saturday/Sunday. That number may change up or down we'll see. I think this will help me not feel like I'm always behind the 8 ball. Orders will take 6-12 weeks for the time being so order early!

Fully Custom Prices will be as follows:

$65.00  Bride and Groom
$70.00  Bride, Groom and 1 child or pet (3 total)
$75.00  Bride, Groom 2 children or pets (4 total)
$80.00  Bride, Groom 3 children or pets (5 total)

With this new pricing I will be offering Semi-Custom Toppers at the 45.00 price.  For the semi-customs you only get to choose the following:

1. Hair color/selected styles ie.. side bun, low bun, high bun, crew cut, classic side part, curly
2. Eye color
3. Suit and Tie color

Brides dress will be strapless ( no choice here ) Ivory or white which I will have a listing for the white and a listing for the ivory in the shop.

Semi-customs will ship with in 2 weeks of purchase (not including shipping) add 2-3 business days for domestic orders and 6-10 business days for International.

I think this is a nice change and balance for myself.

Enjoy your Wed!

AAAAAL PACINO

Good Morning Friends.

I've had a busy past 2 weeks and so far there is no end in sight or at least a little relief.  I've been painting about 10-12 hours a day trying to get caught up with orders.  This wedding season is kicking my butt.  It''s my own fault. I didn't realize when I was working full time the amount of orders I had for May and June.  I know I'll work my way out of it and be ahead of orders but right now it seems that day will never come.  With that it has made me realize I need to re-structure how I take orders in the future. I'm working out those details and will share later on down the road. They will probably take place for next year.
Now on to fun news.  Wed night the hubby, my MIL and FIL went to see Al Pacino speak (1 night only) at the Count Basie Theater in Red Bank, NJ.  I know your saying how could seeing Al Pacino speak be interesting. Oh you are wrong my friend.  He was charming, funny and witty.  He told stories of how he got into acting, first movie roles, behind the scenes of the God Father, Panic in Needle Park and  his love of Shakespeare.

He also showed scenes from his docudramas Looking for Richard and up coming Wilde Salome

It truly was such an awesome experience just to be in a room with him.

I'm off to paint.  Have a lovely weekend

K
